Loading... Please wait...The Rubicon Locker Override kit allows JK and JKU Rubicon* Jeeps to engage the front or rear locker manually without relying on the transfer case being in low range.
The factory sets up the Rubicon Jeeps such that the lockers can only be engaged in 4 low and only allowing the rear to be engaged first then the front.
This kit allows either the front or rear to be engaged regardless of what gear the transfer-case is in or which order the lockers are engaged or disengaged. This kit does not alter the factory set up and it can be used normally if you want to.
This kits works with 2011 to 2018 JK and JKU Rubicon models
This kit does NOT include the Backlight Kit unless 'add backlight kit' is selected.
*Your jeep MUST BE A JK or JKU Rubicon with factory lockers. This doesn't add lockers to a JK that doesn't have lockers

Amazing product, install directions via YouTube was spot on and to me, a lot better than paper directions. Product works as described and I am thankful for business like this, that produce quality products for a decent price!

Best/cheapest Rubicon upgrade you can buy. A couple observations and a minor critique from a 3 consecutive Jeep owner, YJ, TJ, JKU and second Rubicon. You have to accept the locker dash lights are going to flash when engaged because the computer thinks you are engaging the factory switches outside of factory allowable parameters, i.e. 4L. And the write-up has you tap into a hot wire and ground to dash metal so the back light is on 24/7. I instead chose to tap into the YE/LB (map lights, in dash) for power and crimped the ground to the closed circuit (On) position of the rear locker. Personal preference, that way the back light only comes on when you engage the rear locker and since most Jeepers in FL mud and sand would engage only their rear or both rather than just the front, that's when the backlight comes on. Minor critique is they seem to be saving money in materials or miss-measured since the main wire was only long enough to give me a couple extra inches to the switch to be able to pull it out of the dash if I needed to and not long enough to have any left over to create the backlight harness they show in the install video. I had to use some of my own wire I had on hand. No matter what this is a complete and awesome system.

I followed the video install and everything went as smooth as butter! Once installed it works flawlessly. I did this install as I was having some intermittent issues with the factory locker switch... as well as I also like trailing in 2wd and if things get a bit slippery i just pop the rear locker on vs having to shift into 4wd. The little plastic switch panel installed very clean as well.

I bought this because I didn't want to be tied down by Jeep's safety measures and this has proved already to be a wonderful product. It looks like it's a stock mechanism and it was very easy to install. I have used this five or six times already on slick roads and snow with this early Denver snow storm. I know that it's going to treat me very well on the trails also. It's amazing to be able to get power to both rear wheels at the same time on demand.
